{"id":40,"date":"2007-07-02T16:36:28","date_gmt":"2007-07-02T07:36:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.diamondsandopals.com\/blog\/making-the-case-for-re-certification-or-verification\/"},"modified":"2021-07-25T14:28:38","modified_gmt":"2021-07-25T06:28:38","slug":"making-the-case-for-re-certification-or-verification","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.jogiadiamonds.com.au\/blog\/making-the-case-for-re-certification-or-verification\/","title":{"rendered":"Making The Case For Re-Certification or Verification"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Re-certification or verification refers to taking a certified diamond to an independent appraiser or laboratory to double check the gradings on the laboratory certificate.<br \/>\n<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Every diamond grading certificate has a little disclaimer saying words to the effect that they&#8217;re not responsible for the grades on the certificate and that you should consult a qualified gemmologist or jeweller.<\/p>\n<p>This would be akin to going to a bank, depositing money and receiving a slip with a disclaimer saying that there&#8217;s no guarantee that you&#8217;ll get your money back. Hence, buying a diamond should be no different, since every consumer good by law comes with some kind of warranty. Even\u00a0 money deposited in a bank is guaranteed by the Reserve Bank.<\/p>\n<p>Certificate verification or re-certification is a cheap and easy way to virtually guarantee the quality of the diamond you are going to purchase.<\/p>\n<p>The two labs we use for re-certification and verification are <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gemstudieslaboratory.com.au\/\">Gem Studies Laboratory<\/a> and Bauer Gemmological Laboratories.
